DAY 31, HIGH-CARB, LOW-FAT 80/10/10 -- ON MY WAY TO 2500 CALORIES PER DAY!
My doctor and I talked about my desire to exercise more and have my body fat % be lower. I must get my calories up to 2500 per day with the 80/10/10 guidelines for carbs/fat/protein. This I can do with my secret weapon: DATES! LOL
Today I will have 8 dates which I've read in several places is the recommended amount per day for active people and I am VERY active. Yesterday I started a new cleaning client. 3200 square feet upstairs and 99% of the flooring was wood! Wow, what a workout. That was above 2 laps and 2 staircases at the mall and my other cleaning client for the day. I did very well and got a good 8 hrs sleep.
My eyesight this morning was blurry which indicates a problem with the glucose/muscle issue - 1st stage. I really worked hard for a long period of time yesterday. It takes a bit for my body to recover. I am not overdoing it today for sure.
Yesterday I had water, watermelon, 7 cups of my Ambrosia-Banana-Citrus smoothie, 1 cup of the smoothie blended with swiss chard for a green smoothie, 6 layer salad for lunch and dinner with my Zucchini-Asparagus-Tahini dressing. I realized yesterday that my craving for tomatoes is lessening finally after 3 months. I was consuming at least 1 lb of tomatoes per day. That is a lot of tomatoes!
I also do not want as much lettuce as I was wanting before. My greens consumption is almost a lb a day which is a healthy standard. Sometimes it is 1/2 lb, but never less. I heard that this would happen and I am not surprised. Once you start eating high-carb your bodies nutrient requirements are being met for the most part. I do like the balance of the greens added though.
My Cron-o-Meter stats: 2410 calories (close!), 87.6 carbs/6.2% fat/6.3% protein. 77.6 grams fiber, 531.1 mg Sodium -- wow!
Short blog today. I'm busy in the kitchen. I'll be preparing a cauliflower cous-cous salad with my Zucchini-Asparagus-Tahini dressing. Yummm
Have a high-carb fruit-filled day. Fruit is not just for desert! It is our natural mainstay.
