DAY 32 LOW FAT, HIGH CARB RAW ORGANIC VEGAN -- FLEXIBILITY
It is important to be flexible when eating this way. Some days you want lots of greens, other days lots of tomatoes. The next week you may want no greens or no tomatoes. It can feel a bit frustrating planning your meals, but it is simply your body asking for what it needs. It is turning warmer and I am spending more time outside when I can. My body is getting natural vitamin D and fresh air and I will want/need different food nutrition during these warmer temps than during the colder months.
I craved tomatoes for 14 weeks straight. I was using over 1 lb of tomatoes a day! Now not so much. I tried using a portion of my Ambrosia smoothie and adding some leafy greens to make a green smoothie. It tasted wonderful but I'd prefer eating my greens. Go figure! LOL I'm learning to go with the flow and to be ever-flexible. The longer I eat this way the more it will settle - or not! LOL
I do know the signals for my bodies needs when I am not listening: Since I am eating tons of fruit I no longer crave any sweets whatsoever. When I am craving salty, high-fat SAD food it means I need more greens! I am eating them for sure and then some. I am listening intently not only to my bodies needs but am listening better to others. Running the businesses I do it is an Ace In the Hole for sure.
I ate: watermelon, 8 cups of Ambrosia-Banana-Citrus smoothie, 2 cups of Karen's Cauliflower Cous-Cous (very yummy!) over butter leaf lettuce with tomatoes for lunch. I had 1 small serving of Fettucini-Alfredo on baby spinach with tomatoes for dinner. I also ate 8, yes Eight!,plump Medjool dates - YEA!, and loads of water!
My Cron-o-Meter stats: 2298 calories (near my low end) 86.6% carbs/7.8% fat/ 5.6% protein. 71.6grms of fiber, 175.6mg sodiun.
I found the phone number for The Date People on Dan "The Man" Mc Donald's youtube video for "caramel" apples (yum!) made with dates of course!. I'm calling them today to see how soon I can order a LARGE sampler of their dates. I was going to do a small one, but changed my mind this morning. These little bombs are the best response for a quick and easy and nutritious snack on the go.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Enjoy your fruit today!
